From Blacksburg to the Street
"When I was a freshman at Radford, I was already networking, going through Wall Street Prep courses, and involved with our student investment fund. However, what most students overlook is how important their environment is. When I transferred to Virginia Tech and joined IBG, I wasn’t just getting access to exclusive technical training, I was surrounded by people who pushed me every day to get better and chase the top firms. IBG isn’t just about learning the material (you can Google that); it’s the atmosphere, the structure, and the people that give you a real shot at breaking into investment banking."
"When I got the interview with DC Advisory, I wasn’t part of IBG yet, but several members still went out of their way to prep me—walking me through technicals, helping me clean up my story, and even mock interviews. That support made all the difference. I ended up landing the offer, and now I’m excited to officially join the group this fall and go through the full training program."
"Although my time in IBG was brief, this experience was incredibly rewarding thanks to the mentorship program and openness of the team. The research project offered a steep learning curve and strong team camaraderie—both key for a future in investment banking. IBG stood out for the group’s ambitious strides, collaborative culture, and impactful mentorship."
